Love blooms again between a married couple navigating a marital crisis, sparking a tale of sticking together no matter what. Starring Kim Soo-hyun & Kim Ji-won.

Where to Watch

Queen of Tears is a romantic comedy that chronicles the rollercoaster love story of a married couple. Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun), the legal director of the Queens Group conglomerate, and his wife, Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won), the esteemed “queen” of their department stores, navigate a marital crisis. When their marriage hits a rocky patch, it seems all is lost. But against the odds, love blooms again, sparking a thrilling and humorous tale of sticking together through thick and thin.

The drama is directed by Jang Young-woo (Bulgasal: Immortal Souls) and Kim Hee-won (Little Women). It is penned by Park Ji-eun, the screenwriter behind widely popular dramas like Crash Landing on You and My Love from the Star.

The series serves as a reunion project between writer Park and actor Kim Soo-hyun, who worked together in Producers (2015) and My Love from the Star (2013-2014). Kim’s most recent dramas prior to this are One Ordinary Day (2021) and It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (2020).

Meanwhile, Kim Ji-won was last seen in the 2022 slice-of-life drama My Liberation Notes.

Queen of Tears is the fourth primetime tvN drama to premiere in 2024. It premiered on March 9, 2024 and aired every Saturday and Sunday at 21:10 KST, occupying the time slot previously held by Captivating the King.

The series is the first primetime Korean drama to exceed four million viewers in 2024. Its final episode on April 28, 2024, achieved a nationwide rating of 24.850%, surpassing the peak rating of Crash Landing on You and SKY Castle to become the highest-rated drama in tvN history and third overall in cable TV. It is currently the highest-rated and most watched primetime Korean drama of 2024.
