Parasyte: The Grey is a sci-fi horror drama that centers on Jung Soo-in (Jeon So-nee), who is partially turned into a monster after an alien species called the Parasytes invade Earth. Being half-parasite and half-human, Soo-in grapples with a dual identity, not fully belonging to either side. This recurring theme of coexistence is explored in this expanded universe as humans fight back and prevent a full takeover by the aliens.
Based on the popular Japanese manga series of the same name by Hitoshi Iwaaki, the 6-part series narrates the stories that unfold as the Parasytes invade Korea. It is the latest work of Yeon Sang-ho, the director behind the 2021 Netflix original Hellbound and the hit 2016 film Train to Busan.
