The Bequeathed

The Bequeathed is a mystery suspense drama about the series of ominous events that occur after Yoon Seo-ha (Kim Hyun-joo) inherits a seonsan—a mountain where one’s ancestor’s grave is located.

The series is based on a webtoon, with its screenplay developed by Yeon Sang-ho, who wrote “Hellbound” (2021) and directed the 2016 blockbuster film “Train to Busan.” It was directed by Min Hong-nam, who had worked as Yeon’s assistant director on the films “Peninsula,” “Psychokinesis,” and “Train to Busan.”

Interestingly, the lead actors Kim Hyun-joo and Park Hee-soon had previously co-starred in the 2022-2023 SBS drama Trolley.

The Bequeathed is the second original Korean drama slated for release on Netflix in 2024, following Gyeongseong Creature Part 2.
