Welcome to Samdalri

Welcome to Samdalri is a romance drama that captures the story of two contrasting characters: one who treasures his humble hometown in Jeju (Ji Chang-wook) and another who wants to escape it and pursue photography in Seoul (Shin Hye-sun). The two were born and raised together in the small town of Samdal-ri but had lost contact for several years due to an incident that drove them apart.

The series is helmed by Cha Young-hoon, who directed “When the Camellia Blooms” and “Forecasting Love and Weather,” and written by Kwon Hye-joo, who penned “Go Back Couple” and “Hi Bye, Mama!”

Welcome to Samdalri will be succeeded by Doctor Slump on January 27, 2024.

Characters

Ji Chang-wook (“If You Wish Upon Me“) as Jo Yong-pil, a stubborn weather forecaster who regularly challenges forecasts issued by the Korea Meteorological Administration headquarters. Having dreamt of becoming a forecaster following the loss of his mother due to a weather misprediction, Yong-pil is determined to protect his beloved Jeju, especially the precious elders of his hometown Samdal-ri.

Shin Hye-sun (“See You in My 19th Life“) as Jo Sam-dal, a photographer who had always dreamt of leaving Jeju and making it big in Seoul. She managed to rise to the top in the fashion photography industry under the pseudonym ‘Jo Eun-hye’. However, an unforeseen event causes her carefully built career to crumble, leading her to return to the hometown she once yearned to escape from.
