Actress Lee Se-yeong and Japanese actor Sakaguchi Kentaro will collaborate in a new romance series called “Things that Come After Love.”

This is according to an exclusive report by JTBC News on Tuesday, citing information obtained from an entertainment insider.

“Things that Come After Love” is based on a 2005 best-selling novel co-written by Korean writer Gong Ji-young and Japanese writer Tsuji Hitonari. It portrays a heartwarming love story that transcends national borders, depicting the romance between a Korean woman and a Japanese man.

Lee Se-young has been confirmed earlier this year to star in the fantasy drama “Park’s Contract Marriage Story” opposite actor Bae In-hyuk. The most recent works the actress is known for include “The Law Cafe” and the popular 2021 historical series “The Red Sleeve.”

Meanwhile, Sakaguchi Kentaro is an actor who played the lead role in the Japanese TV remake and movie adaptation of the 2016 award-winning Korean drama “Signal.” His increasing popularity in South Korea is evident with his upcoming first fan meeting in the country in September.

Along with Sakaguchi’s previous visits to Korea to promote his films “The Last 10 Years” and “Color Me True,” the fan meeting and this new project with Lee further strengthens his connection with Korean fans.

“Things that Come After Love” will be produced by Silver Lining Studio. It will mark the drama debut of movie director Moon Hyun-sung, who helmed “Seoul Vibe” and “The King’s Case Note.”

Filming for the series is expected to commence in both South Korea and Japan in the early months of 2024.
