Netflix original Kdrama ‘The Glory’ starring Song Hye-kyo confirms main cast

'The Glory' main actors Song Hye-kyo and Lee Do-hyun

Netflix has officially confirmed on July 22 the production and main cast of “The Glory,” the latest addition to its ever-growing library of original Korean dramas that will be made available exclusively to its subscribers.

The series, a collaboration between award-winning writer Kim Eun-sook (“The King: Eternal Monarch”) and director Ahn Gil-ho (“Happiness”), tells the story of a woman desperate to take revenge on the childhood bullies who ruined her life.

Song Hye-kyo is the lead actress. She and Kim previously worked together in the immensely popular 2016 drama “Descendants of the Sun,” making “The Glory” their reunion project after six years.

Song (“Now, We Are Breaking Up”) plays the character of Moon Dong-eun, a rage-filled woman who has spent her entire life plotting revenge against the school bullies who tormented her as well as the bystanders who did nothing to help her.

Meanwhile, Lee Do-hyun plays the male lead character Joo Yeo-jeong, a man with a secret past. The relative rookie actor previously starred in “Melancholia,” “Youth of May,” “Sweet Home,” and “18 Again.”

Lee is the fourth younger lead actor paired with Song Hye-kyo since 2016, following Jang Ki-yong in “Now, We Are Breaking Up,” Park Bo-gum in “Encounter,” and her ex-husband Song Joong-ki in “Descendants of the Sun.” However, it remains unclear as to whether romance is involved in the relationship between his and Song’s characters.
