Namgoong Min has been confirmed to be infected with the COVID-19 virus.

His agency 935 Entertainment said in a statement on Tuesday that the actor felt unwell on Tuesday morning and pre-emptively conducted a self-test at home using a diagnostic kit which showed a positive result.

The actor then moved to a nearby hospital, where a rapid antigen test confirmed he is COVID-19 positive. As a result, he had to cancel the press conference for his upcoming drama “One Dollar Lawyer” and live radio appearances scheduled on Tuesday.

Namgoong Min is currently staying and resting at home as he is only experiencing mild symptoms. He will undergo treatment in compliance with the health guidelines of the authorities. Despite this development, his new drama will premiere on September 23 as originally scheduled.

Meanwhile, actors Kim Nam-gil and Lee Jung-hae have also tested positive for COVID-19 after traveling abroad and are now in quarantine.

Kim Nam Gil arrived in Canada on September 16 to attend the 47th Toronto International Film Festival, where his film “A Man of Reason” (also known as Guardian) had its world premiere. He tested positive for the virus upon his return to Korea on September 18.

According to his agency Gilstory ENT, the actor is being treated at home and most of his symptoms have already improved.

Kim is working on the Netflix series “Bandit: The Sound of the Knife.” Gilstory ENT also said that the filming schedule for the project is not seriously affected by his being in quarantine.

Finally, Lee Jung-jae, who also attended the Toronto International Film Festival for his directorial debut “Hunt” and recently came home, tested positive for COVID-19 in a PCR test conducted on Sunday.

His agency said on Tuesday that it is suspending all scheduled activities of the actor and focusing on his recovery.

Actor Jung Woo-sung also attended the film festival with Lee but tested negative for the virus upon his return to the country. He has a starring role in “Hunt” and “A Man of Reason,” the latter also being his feature directorial debut.
