The popularity of JTBC drama “My Liberation Notes” is now on a whole new level after it entered Netflix’s top 10 list of non-English series worldwide.
The drama soared to no. 9 on the list from May 16 to 22 based on the number of hours that Netflix subscribers around the world watched the series from Monday to Sunday. It was viewed for 9.85 million hours, according to the latest and official data from Netflix.
Three other Korean dramas also made the latest ranking, namely SBS’s “Business Proposal” (6th place), MBC’s “Tomorrow” (7th), and tvN’s “Our Blues” (8th). “Business Proposal” and Colombian telenovela “Yo soy Betty, la fea” have been in the top 10 for more than two months now while the third season of Mexican thriller “Who Killed Sara?” ranked no. 1.

“Business Proposal,” which ended its TV broadcast nearly two months ago, entered the top 10 for the 11th consecutive week. It has become the fourth Korean drama to stay in the global chart for more than 10 weeks, joining the ranks of “Squid Game,” “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” and “All of Us Are Dead.” The series had previously ranked no. 1 for three weeks in a row, making it one of the top Korean dramas on Netflix since June 2021.
Meanwhile, “My Liberation Notes” continues to dominate the online buzz ranking among ongoing Korean dramas. In the latest ranking released by analytics firm Good Data, it was still the most talked about drama in South Korea during the same period, dominating the list for the third consecutive time. In second and third place is “Our Blues” and “Tomorrow,” respectively.
Last week also saw “My Liberation Notes” achieve a new record high rating of 6.1%, which translates to an estimated 1.46 million viewers across South Korea according to Nielsen. (READ: Kdrama Ratings Daily Update)
The slice-of-life series—starring Kim Ji-won, Son Seok-koo, Lee Min-ki, and Lee El—is the latest work of Baeksang award-winning writer Park Hae-young who is best known for the critically acclaimed tvN drama “My Mister.”
