Lee Se-young received an offer to play the lead female role in a new drama called “Love According to the Law,” her agency Prain TPC confirmed on February 3.
The agency said that the series is just one of the projects that the actress is reviewing.
Based on a web novel of the same name authored by Noh Seung-ah, “Love According to the Law” is a romance drama about two legal professionals who quit their previous jobs and start a new path in life. The role offered to Lee Se-young is that of Kim Yu-ri, a former Miss Korea contestant and lawyer who used to work at a big law firm, but she suddenly leaves it all behind and starts a coffee shop.
The story starts to take an interesting turn when Kim Yu-ri finds out that the owner of the building where her café is located turns out to be her high school friend named Jung Ho, who is a former prosecutor.
Lee Seung-gi is in talks to play the character of Jung Ho. If he and Lee Se-young accept the offer, the drama will mark their reunion since “A Korean Odyssey,” a 2017-2018 fantasy series starring both actors.
Lee Se-young’s most recent drama project was “The Red Sleeve,” a historical series that ended in January with a nationwide Nielsen viewer rating of 17.4%, boosting the popularity of the actress and her co-star Lee Jun-ho.
Meanwhile, Lee Seung-gi last appeared in the 2021 tvN series “Mouse,” which was also a hit among viewers in its time slot.
“Love According to the Law” will be directed by Lee Eun-jin, who previously worked with Lee Se-young in the 2014 KBS2 drama “Lovers of Music.” Director Lee’s works also include “Feel Good to Die” (2018) and “Cheer Up” (2015).
The series aims to premiere in August 2022.
