Kim Tae-ri, Oh Jung-se, and Hong Kyung are now confirmed to be the lead stars of the new SBS drama “Demon” (also known as “The Devil”).

“Demon” is an occult mystery thriller about a woman possessed by a demon and a man who has the ability to see what other people can’t. When the door to another world is opened, they find themselves digging into the mysterious death surrounding five bodies.

Kim Tae-ri (“Twenty Five Twenty One”) will play Koo San-young, a part-time worker during the day and a student during the night studying for the civil service exam. She gets caught in mysterious deaths that keep happening around her since she received the things left behind by her late father. Koo San-young is described as a “complex character with a mixture of good and evil.”

Meanwhile, Oh Jung-se (“Little Women”) has taken on the role of Yeom Hae-sang, a professor of Korean folklore who comes from an affluent family. After getting to know Koo San-young by chance, he encounters again the evil spirit that killed his mother in front of his eyes when he was a child.

Lastly, Hong Kyung (“Lovers of the Red Sky”) will play Lee Hong-sae, a senior police officer assigned to the violent crime investigation unit. He is aiming to get a special promotion but things would not be easy as he finds himself entangled in the mysterious cases connected to Yeom Hae-sang and Koo San-young.

“Demon” is written by Kim Eun-hee, who previously penned “Jirisan,” “Kingdom,” and “Signal,” and will be helmed by PD Lee Jung-rim of “VIP.” It will begin production with the goal of airing in 2023.
