‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ now the most watched drama in 2022 so far

“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” has continued to set a record for the highest television viewership on cable channel ENA and is now the highest-rated cable drama this year to date.

Starring Park Eun-bin, the drama follows the story of a brilliant and autistic lawyer as she faces legal battles in the courtroom and overcomes prejudices against individuals like her who often have problems with social communication and interaction. Its latest and 9th episode features a cameo appearance by award-winning rookie actor Goo Kyo-hwan (“D.P.”).

According to Nielsen Korea, the wildly popular series achieved a nationwide TV rating of 15.8% on Wednesday. This figure is now the highest rating achieved by a cable drama this year, surpassing the peak record (14.6%) of tvN’s “Our Blues.”

‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ Ratings. With a 15.8% rating on episode 9, the show is on its way to becoming the fourth cable drama of all time to achieve a rating of 20% or higher. If successful, it will join the ranks of “The World of the Married,” “Sky Castle,” and “Crash Landing on You.”

Data from Nielsen also show that “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” pulled in an estimated 4.068 million viewers nationwide on its latest episode, making it the most watched primetime K-drama between 9 pm and 12 midnight KST in 2022 so far.

It has surpassed the 3.668 million viewers achieved by the final episode of  “The Red Sleeve” (MBC) on January 1, 2022 and the 3.419 million viewers recorded by the finale of “Our Blues” last month.

In terms of viewers, “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” was also no. 1 among all programs across cable and non-cable channels on July 27. KBS1 daily series “Bravo, My Life” ranked second with 2.925 million viewers.

Meanwhile, tvN’s new drama “Adamas,” starring Ji Sung in a dual role, logged a 3.5% rating and 810,000 viewers nationwide on the same night while Kang Ha-neul starrer “Insider” (JTBC) recorded 2.9% and 710,000 viewers.

The two shows air at 10:30 pm KST, or 90 minutes behind the 9 pm schedule of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo.”
